most of our friends already know the story as to how we met, so i'll try to keep this short and sweet!
they were having a competition on 5fm, so whilst catching some sun / reading up on planning an audit (home on study leave!), i figured that i'd go and surf their site. you have to register your details, which was taking time, so i saw this link to 5fm dating. "ha ha, let me go look at those sad people", i thought! lo and behold, they actually looked mostly normal, so i figured that for a laugh i'd put my profile on and see if anybody would actually look at it! well, BIG surprise! they actually did! but to respond, i had to take out a subscription, which (for another laugh!) i then did.
started chatting to many different people all over the country; like penpals almost! when i got back to cape town i met up with a few of the guys. some a little strange, some really nice! and then thinus started to mail me (must admit, my first thought was - oh my word, he looks like a boere-seun!).
fast forward to the first meeting...
yup, saw him running up the stairs (so rude - he ignored me calling out to him!) ("Thinus' comments - i really did not hear her calling out to me!!! promise!"); when i walked into FBG, he was standing there all cool, it just made me smile! and so we sat down on the couch. and he kicked off his shoes. very very very odd. (okay, only because i'm the one who usually does this!) so i figured i better keep mine on!
it was a good first evening! had a great time, especially as he's just so easy and comfortable to talk to (something i still value in our relationship!). no funny hidden agendas or pretences! and when i took him to meet the couzies, he didn't even flinch (big brownie point scorer, that one!).
and so the next day he drove all the way from paarl to clifton beach, just to meet me for lunch! and the next day he came to the movies with me! and the next day...
