Christmas in Germany

Sarurday the 23rd of December, and we're off to Heathrow for our flight to Germany. My first trip to Heathrow, and it's all true.. it's a big place and easy to get lost! Luckily i had Ronell to help with the navigation through all the 1000's of people and we got booked in with no problems. Ended up having two hours to kill before our flight, so had a beer in a nice restaurant. They had lots of board games and we ended up playing "Battleships" and things got very competitive.. we stopped at one game each, just to keep the peace... We got a bit worried when the plane taxied for more than half an hour before take off and they also had to de-ice the wings before we could get off the ground.. we had to pick up the rental car before midnight and were cutting it very close! We landed at 23h30 and could not get off the plane fast enough and almost ran to passport control.. we still had to find the rental agency and the airport is not the smallest.. how happy were we when we saw some familiar faces outside.. Helga came running after me.. it seems i'd already been going in the wrong direction.. our hosts in Germany, Wolfgang Brenner and his son Andreas, had come all the way from Eichenau to meet us! While the other's waited for our baggage, Wolfgang showed me where the agency was and we made it just in time! They were very organised and even had two way radio's so that we could keep in contact while driving to Eichenau.
