Ronell's matric reunion

So, on the 3rd March we met at the school by the tennis courts. Must say, I think the same thought crossed most peoples minds: will I recognise everyone, or have 10 years been too long? That question was quickly answered though and everyone knew who everyone was! Phew! So, some drinks and snacks and then Mr Baxter took us on the tour of the school. First stop: the headmasters office. Hmm. Seems like some of the boys had fond memories...

For the 125th anniversary of the school they'd made these huge picture frames with photos from the beginning of time. This provided much laughter throughout, especially as we spotted pictures of us and friends from many years ago!

Then onto the rest of the school. Mr Baxter pointed out the changes, although one thing has not changed for certain - Mr Rembold's science lab!! That place has been caught in time - and probably always will!

Here's everyone chilling on the top floor, staring out over the sports fields. First pic we've got Carmen and hubby Johnny, Melody and hubby Barry. Next pic is Kevin, Mrs Meyer, Mr Baxter and Mariel. And third pic is Michelle with Emma and hubby Gareth (on the left) and Egon (hubby of Imke - she's actually in the first pic, standing next to Bronwen).

After the tour we had to take the group photo. From left to right: Martin, David, Kevin, Anita, Melody, Imke, Carmen, Ronell, Mariel, Michelle and Bronwen. Everyone's all grown up!!

Then it was off to the Wartburger Hof. It was such a lovely day, and we all just chilled outside by the pool! Everyone had brought bits and pieces with - photos, memoirs, stories! So here you can see how engrossed everyone is in remembering what happened 10 years ago! Can you guys believe it's really been 10 years?

Anyway, so in the pic is Gareth, Michelle, Carmen stuck behind Michelle, Johnny, Kevin and David. Kevin, David, Friedel, Martin, Mariel, Bronwen, Barry and Melody.

Dinner was great! And everyone was remembering more and more stories! Mrs Rogers being locked away, eating lunch in accounting, typing finger exercises, someone wanting 2 extra points...

The evening ended up in the pub, getting crazier by the second and our laughing muscles starting to hurt!!

Next morning, bright and early we continued - this time for breakfast outside on the veranda. Just a quick catch up, but nice none the less! In the pics we have David, Greg and Mariel. Sadly Greg couldn't make it the night before due to his expanding new empire! Then Egon, Imke and Tanya.

Meldoy, Barry and Sidney, with another one due a week from that day! And then Anita and me (excuse the translucent glow, London tends to do that!)

A huge thanks to everyone who made the effort to be there! We had such a great time, and will definitely be there for the 20 year reunion! Hopefully though we'll all stay in better touch until then!

On the side of admin - we'd like to plan a reunion in London towards the end of the year. Thinking Aug / Sept / Oct. Can everyone who is in northern hemisphere please let me know when it would suit best! I'm giving advance notice here - so no excuses please!! For those in the southern hemisphere - this is the PERFECT excuse for a holiday! So hopefully some of you will also be able to make it!

Another admin side of things. We want to put together a memo of everyone's details and stories and pics. Please send them through to me! Don't put it off - do it now! Then I don't have to track you down and torture you! Oh, and I don't have everyone's contact details yet either. So please forward this on to the others, and send me contact details!
