He booked us in at a 5 star b&b on a farm, outside Frome. Such an amazing place; so quiet and peaceful!
As we had arrived lateish, we just snuggled up in our sumptuous bed, gathering energy for the next day! Breakfast was glorious and with a view; one could see for miles! Green, trees, donkeys having a good time early in the morning...
After that it was time to head in to Bath. We took a quick walk into the centre of town for some coffee and postcard writing. The pic shows where we sat - in between the abbey and the roman baths. Not everyday you get a view like that in the morning!
Thinus had heard that it was the Bath vs Bristol semi-final rugby match that day. So this was something we had to experience!
Tickets bought, off we went to our perfect seats: 2nd row from the front, on the 22 line! This meant that we got to watch Bath pummel Bristol in a spectacular 7 tries right in front of us!
But then it was time for our bus tour around bath, to soak up some of the history, scenery, and all that is Bath! With such views it quickly became our favourite city of the UK thus far!
And then, as it was now officially my b-day, Thinus took me to Charlton House!
Now this is one of those super-spiffy restaurants where you have a waiter for everything! There was a person who welcomed us and took our coats. Another that came to bring us fancy hors d'oeuvre. Another who brought us the champagne and beer. Another who took our wine order and served our wine. Another... I'm sure you're getting the picture! For all our fans in SA, we won't tell you what the bill came to. Suffice to say, it pained Thinus to swipie swipie, and I felt REALLY loved! On Sunday we took a detour via Nunney castle. This is a rare french style 14th century castle. We could almost picture us living there!

Then it was time for the walking tour around Bath. Very informative, and definitely a good way to see the sights and learn about the town! Here is the Royal Crescent - so very pretty, and definitely THE place to live. Well, maybe in another lifetime!
Sadly, that concluded our magical trip to Bath.
But, before going home, it was time for a detour via Stonehenge. A bit smaller than one thinks it would be, but impressive as to how old it is! Makes one feel quite young!! And lastly, a quick snooze in the grass, warm sun, pretty little flowers. Such a nice birthday weekend!
