New year's eve!

One of Thinus' Christmas pressies was tickets to the Tutankhamun exhibition at the O2 dome on the 31st December. So our plan was to go in the morning, have a leisurely look about and then head back home to be in bed by 9pm. Little did we know how our day was going to turn out!
So we did go to the exhibition, but then decided to have lunch at the O2 dome thereafter. We found a little mexican place where they had a 2 for 1 special on cocktails. Sadly, the ones I picked This didn't really enjoy - so I had 4 cocktails instead of just the 2! He he... So in a jovial mood, we decided to explore a bit of London, even though it was quite cold that day! We traipsed past the Tower of London, over Tower Bridge, along the South Bank and found our way to Shakespeare Globe Theatre. There we hit upon the idea of simply staying in London for the evening and to while away our time, we would go and see Swimming with Sharks at the Vaudeville Theatre. Tickets booked, we made our way past St Paul's Cathedral and Trafalgar Square (with the big Christmas Tree!) and spent a while at Leicester Square watching people on the rides and being in good spirits! Then on to the theatre - the show had Christian Slater as the lead (yummy!), and I reckon we had the best seats in the house - front row! I could have stuck my arm out and touched him!! Sadly, I had to be restrained, but did try to get some good picks! We quite enjoyed the theatre, but then had another 2 hours of time. So off we went to Waterloo bridge and then on to the National Theatre's balcony. We figured this would be a good vantage point (alas, not quite, but hey!) and waited out the rest of 2007. Too many crowds, smoke covered the fireworks, but hey, we were in the throng of a new year and so we made the best of it!Then it was time to head back, amongst the light covered trees and promise of new beginnings!Overall, we had a really stunning day! London isn't always such a bad place!
